The Ekiti residence of Professor Banji Akintoye, coordinator of the Yoruba self-determination group, Ilana Omo Oodua, IOO, was on Saturday attacked by gunmen.
This was contained in a statement released by the communications secretary, Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, on Tuesday in Ibadan.
The attack was carried out by assailants who reportedly shot into the house, although Prof. Akintoye was not around when the attack occurred.
The statement reads “The leadership of the umbrella body of Yoruba Self-Determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), is displeased to inform the general public that the Ado-Ekiti country home of its leader, Professor Banji Akintoye, was attacked on Saturday, 30th October, 2021.
