Royal commentator Angela Levin claims the clip released to mark Meghan Markle’s 40th birthday shows what she thinks of the Royal Family, in a Daily Mirror report.
A royal expert has accused Meghan Markle of mocking the Queen in her 40th birthday video. The video, released yesterday, sees Meghan announce a new project – 40×40 – which aims to get women back into the workplace with support from other women.
In the clip, she is joined by actress McCarthy and Meghan asks her to help out with an idea she has for her birthday.

Melissa then cracks a series of jokes about how Meghan should celebrate her 40th birthday – from getting tattoos to having a yacht party – before the new project is revealed.
During the video, the pair are both seen drinking from traditional teacups and at one point Melissa can be seen wearing a hat and gloves.
And taking to Twitter, royal expert and commentator Angela Levin asked: “Anyone else think that Meghan and her friend Melissa McCartney were mocking the Queen in the birthday video?”
She added: “Both holding old-fashioned cup and saucer-like Meg used in her blog after first meeting with the Queen. Melissa sipping from the cup wearing a fancy hat and gloves?

“The mockery shows what she thinks of the Royal Family. She’s got what she wanted and is confident she can outsmart us all. We just have to wait for Harry’s outpouring in his memoir.”
Replying to her tweet, fellow royal biographer Robert Jobson wrote: “Maybe. Certainly poking fun at the Brits … with an outdated caricature. Par for the course.”
Another person said: “Not just the Queen but the British culture too. Selling it and mocking it at the same time.”
The video was released just hours after the Queen as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sent Meghan birthday wishes on reaching 40.
The Monarch used the official royal family Instagram account to share the message, which read: “Wishing the Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday today!”
